Why is that there's nothing more soothing than falling asleep to the sound of rain beating down on the roof and hitting the pavement outside your open window, and nothing more disappointing than waking up to the sound of rain beating down on the roof and hitting the pavement outside your open window? Despite a good night's sleep it's morning's like today's that call for a little musical jump-start especially since—no matter what the weather is like—it's the start of a long, holiday weekend. And I think I know just the tune. Taking their name from the word Billy Batson used to transform himself into Captain Marvel (actually, “SHAZAM” is the egyptian wizard who grants Billy Batson the ability to make his super hero transformation), this band from Nashville(?!) plays an amazing blend of catchy, powerful, hook-laden guitar rock. I think the one quote on their website sums it up perfectly: …“you can't go too wrong filtering Cheap Trick and early Who through prevailing garage sensibilities…” I can't wait to see them live.
