Was the year 2017 really all bad? Sure, lots of crappy stuff happened — even some horribly crappy stuff — but if you google “good things that happened in 2017” you can read an abundance of stories about heroism, hope, achievement and beauty that serve as reminders that the past year wasn’t entirely a shit show of hostility, mediocrity and disappointment. Some of those googled stories even encourage optimism for the future.
After a six year hiatus, I’m excited to be posting the Happy Medium Song of the Day again with some regularity. I enjoy the mental exercise of writing and it’s fun to share music with my friends. Thanks to everyone who took the time to read and listen and comment in 2017. Discourse, however short, is what it’s all about, and I hope to stimulate more of that in the coming year.
