If I didn't know any better, I'd say The Hotrod Cadets are going to be big. It won't happen over night, but if they have as much persistence as they do musical talent, it's only a matter of time. They're from somewhere in Scotland. You can tell as soon as they sing the first line of this song and manage to pronounce the word “out” with two syllables. They strum acoustic guitars. Ferociously. Melodically. Brightly. The songs are about heartbreak, break-ups, break downs, disappointment, and regret. The writing is poignant, witty, and clever. Let's get 'em in the backyard on Druid Drive before too many unappreciative shitholes with crappy sound systems and even lousier ventilation systems crush their spirit, their enthusiasm, and their youthful sincerity. The Happy Medium Song of the Day is “Glory” from the CD Breaking Up. (Please use the comments box to share your thoughts.)
