Since 1993 The Lucksmiths have released nine full length CD's, six EP's and a number of songs scattered across various singles and compilations… And yet, lead singer/drummer Tali White has the creative energy and compulsion to write music for and perform with another group of musicians other than Marty Donald and Mark Monnone. That group of musicians is known as The Guild League and since 2002, they have released two CD's on Candle. The band originally formed, according to the Candle website, as a “16-member pan-pacific collaborative side project.” They've whittled the size down over the years, but it's the distinctive voice and song writing talents of Tali White that really makes the band special. The Happy Medium Song of the Day was the band's first single and it can be found on their first CD Private Transport. The song is called “Jet-set…Go!” and it's not terribly dissimilar from the kind of jangly guitar pop The Lucksmiths make, but honestly, can you ever have too much of that sound?
