The start of each new year is typically ushered in with a myriad of untenable pledges for self-improvement, and unrealistic vows of abstinence. Eat better. Drink less. Exercise more. Spend less. Save more. Get a job, get
a hobby, get organized, get serious, etc., etc. And it all starts tomorrow. But turning over a new leaf just because
it’s a new year, often dissipates into a meaningless mantra of good intentions thwarted by temptation, excess
and excuses.

“Resolution” is a whimsical laundry list of good intentions that erupts with a ferocious procolomation passionately repeated over a rapid-fire drum beat. It’s a resolute promise to face life and death head on without regrets and without fear. I think that covers all the bases. “Resolution” is the first song on Alien Envoy’s brilliant 2014 album, Loads, and it’s the second Happy Medium Song of the Day for 2019 that delivers a resounding declaration to burn it bright throughout the year, and to do so not with reckless abandon, but tenacity, prudence, and a sense of humor.
