OK, I had a tune all picked out and ready to go and then I saw that Wilson Pickett died today in Reston, Virginia from a heart attack at the age of 64. Do you remember the great ending of the film The Commitments when Wilson's limo pulls up and the gob-smacked Irish youth finally meets his idol? Brilliant. Anyway, I'm guessing you probably already have “Mustang Sally,” “Land of 1,000 Dances,” and “Midnight Hour,” so I'm gonna post one of my favorite cover versions of “Midnight Hour” as performed by Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. You can read all about Wilson in this Washington Post article. (Please use the comments box to share your thoughts.)
