OK, short and sweet because it is Friday.
A few months ago you may remember I dedicated a whole week to the demise of Australia’s Candle Records; home to The Lucksmiths, Girls From the Clouds, Guild League, etc. Well, Candle Records has indeed sold all its inventory and closed up shop. But thankfully The Lucksmiths are no longer homeless. They have turned up on a new Australian label called Lost & Lonesome. The Zebras, from Brisbane, are also on L&L, and their CD turned up on Easter as a gift from Lori. The Happy Medium Song of the Day comes from their second CD, Worry a Lot. The track is called “You Look Ready” and it’s pretty much classic jangly guitar pop music in the same vein as their label mates from Melbourne, but with the added benefit of a female voice contributing to the harmonies. Good stuff for a Friday night. (Please use the comments box to share your thoughts.)
