I am Aglow

Sarah Harmer

26 January 2006

The beauty of some songs is their ability to say exactly what's on your mind, but with the added benefit of being contained—not necessarily all at once—inside a haunting, catchy, anthemic, raucous, joyous, driving, sexy, angry, contemplative, tune. For me, songs are two aural taste-treats in one: words and lyrics for the mind and heart / tunes and beats for your lips and feet. Sort of like scallops wrapped in bacon, or naked skin, freshly washed and powdered and warm inside a fluffy towel. I dunno if there's a lot of buzz on this musician yet or not. If there isn't there should be. If there is, I'm jumping aboard. If it's already over… why didn't someone tell me about it? and, shame on all of us who missed it.

So here, for those of you who thought I might be delivering a steady diet of nothing but unforgettable 2-minute power pop gems, is Sarah Harmer and today's Happy Medium Song of the Day:  “I am Aglow.”
