Sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind, roll the dice, take a chance, and plunk your hard earned cash down on music you've never heard before — or you could just let me do it for you. My latest musical discovery is a band from Vienna called Sugarplum Fairies. To be honest, I bought the CD for the weird cover photo of a barefoot woman sitting on some retro furniture with what looks like a dik-dik (a small antelope native to Africa) standing placidly on the floor in front of her. The photo made me laugh and then the music turned out to be a pleasant surprise that was in heavy rotation on our recent road trip to Ohio. The Happy Medium Song of the Day is “Velcro Girl” by Sugarplum Fairies from the album Country International Records. (Please use the comments box to share your thoughts.)
